Assemblers in manufacturing

Wooden boat rebuilders work on wooden boats. This work includes sketching layout, designing, selecting woods and veneers, fabricating fastenings, joining, and finishing boat components. They operate computer-assisted design systems and wood-cutting equipment.

Surface mount assemblers put together the tiny gizmos that make our gadgets work. This involves soldering, bonding, and assembling various electronic components. They can work on transistors, diodes, capacitors, integrated circuits, wires, or other electronic parts.

Electrical control (machine) builders build the electrical portions of machine tools. They install electrical devices and enclose them in protective tubing. They must work from electrical schematics before preparing and organizing all the necessary wiring.

Micro electronics manufacturers use big machines to make tiny components. They operate and monitor the machinery that produces micro-electronic products, so they should be comfortable operating robotics and automation equipment.
