Casual Registered Nurse – LaVerendrye General Hospital Job Reference #: 39-2020 Riverside Health Care is a fully accredited multi-site, multi-faceted health care system providing service to the Rainy River District in spectacular Northwestern Ontario. Riverside Health Care encompasses Hospital, Long Term Care, and Community Services. The district has a number of major sites including LaVerendrye General Hospital, Rainycrest Long Term Care, Rainy River Health Centre, Emo Health Centre, others. In this role the successful candidate would be expected to Provide and coordinate nursing care to assigned clients, patients and residents consistent with current Standards of Professional Practice with the Ontario College of Nurses; Function as a staff nurse or team leader; Accept shift rotation and assignments on other nursing units in accordance with staffing needs; Delegate, supervise and evaluate patient care of the RPNs; and Carry out all work assignments safely and be knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have to possess the following: Current Certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Current CPR; Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), preferred ; Demonstration of strong nursing practice, skill and judgement; Possess excellent interpersonal skills including distinguished verbal communication abilities; Demonstrated critical thinking, leadership and mentoring skills; Exhibits the ability and competence to work with all computer systems and applications; Exercises behaviours consistent with Riverside Health Cares Code of Conduct; Proven ability to execute the essential duties of the job; Willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights and weekends; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill with the ability to function effectively independently, within a team, with front line personnel , and management; Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload; Demonstrates Riverside Health Cares Core Values; Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Growth. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; Dependable with a verifiable acceptable attendance record; Proven ability to perform the essential duties of the position on a regular basis.
