Full-Time Registered Nurse Intermediate Care Unit (ICU) LaVerendrye General Hospital Job Reference #: 54-2021 This position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been hired. Riverside Health Care is a fully accredited multi-site, multi-faceted health care system providing service to the Rainy River District in spectacular Northwestern Ontario. Riverside Health Care encompasses Hospital, Long Term Care, and Community Services. The district has a number of major sites including LaVerendrye General Hospital, Rainycrest Long Term Care, Rainy River Health Centre, Emo Health Centre, others. The Nursing Department at LaVerendrye General Hospital is actively recruiting a Full Time Registered Nurse ICU to join our team. The successful candidate must be able to meet the normal requirements of the job and possess the following: QUALIFICATIONS: Current Certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Current CPR; Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred; Graduate of recognized ICU program acceptable to the Corporation; preferred; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), preferred ; Demonstration of strong nursing practice, skill and judgement; Possess excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrated critical thinking, leadership and mentoring skills; Exhibits the ability and competence to work with all computer systems and applications; Exercises behaviours consistent with Riverside Health Cares Code of Conduct; Willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights and weekends; Demonstrates Riverside Health Cares Core Values; Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Growth; Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill with the ability to function effectively independently, within a team, with front line personnel , and management; Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload; Dependable with a verifiable acceptable attendance record; Proven ability to perform the essential duties of the position on a regular basis. Willingness to participate in additional training and courses to ensure continued competency in the ICU RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide and coordinate nursing care to assigned clients, patients and residents consistent with current Standards of Professional Practice with the Ontario College of Nurses Function as a staff nurse or team leader. Accept shift rotation and assignments on other nursing units in accordance with staffing needs Delegate, supervise and evaluate patient care of the RPNs Carry out all work assignments safely and be knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
