  Education Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent.

  Training Hours: Complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training for this apprenticeship.

  Thin film technicians specialize in applying very thin optical coatings for wavelength filters, anti-reflection coatings, special mirrors, and polarizing elements.
